Was up at whistler on a road trip last weekend, and finished my round of golf, got back in car took off and noticed the MIL light on just below the headlights. This supposedly signifies a problem with the emmissions control system, i.e. catalytic converters and other hardware. Get back to seattle and it is not on this morning when I go to work. Anyone had this happen. Was it altitude? Whistler is only at 2000 feet. 30k service is up soon.

Monday morning a week ago the car started and idled roughly for a few seconds and then started running smoothly. The MIL light came on and remained on during the entire 45 mile drive to work. The light came on for the next two drives. On the fourth drive, the MIL light went on for a few seconds at startup and then turned off (like normal). If your MIL light starts blinking, that means your cataletic (sp?) converter can be damaged... proceed to the nearest dealer ASAP.

Even though the light went out the fault will still be stored for 40 driving cycles. Mention the light came on when you do your 30K.
