Out of chance, have you checked in the owner's manual? You might get lucky.

Ray, your constant referencing of the manual cracks me up. C'mon, this is the information age! Now, if the manual was on CD-ROM, everyone would have read it! ;-)

Default With Teves caliper - 0.906", Lucas caliper - 0.790"

I believe that most A4's have the Teves caliper (mine does). The new rotor thickness is 0.984". This gives about 0.080" of wear before new rotors are required. You can use micrometers right through the 5 spoke wheels to measure this without wheel removal. I lost 0.040" of the rotor in 30K miles with light braking...wonder where all the brake dust comes from????
