Default misfire from cylinder 1 then went to cylinder 3

When I changed the coil pack from cylinder 1 to cylinder 3 the misfire fallowed. So I thought it would be safe to say it was the ignition coil. Bought a new one and it still misfires in cylinder 3. The ignition coil I bought is the black part that connects the metal piece to the coil pack. Would it now be safe to say it is the metal part that connects to the ignition coil which is the part that has the rubber over it? The car does not shake violently but it does studder in the lower rpms. Cel would flash then turn solid. Wouldnt come right back on when cleared. I am lost..... Any other suggestions, my car is a 97 1.8tq

Default Use a multimeter and ohm that connector thing. See if they are...

all about the same. Should be about 1800 ohms I think. At least that's what mine are.

Default Re: misfire from cylinder 1 then went to cylinder 3

First what you need is the ultimate tool for your audi-Vag com. If you do not clear your codes first from the ecu your problem will never go away. If you do not have a Vag, then what you can do is remove your ecu for about an 1 1/2 hour from the car after you made all changes to clear codes.
