A misfire question on my friend's 00' Jetta 2.0 Engine
My friend's Jetta 2.0(stock) got P300 p301 P304 misfire codes on cylinder 1,4. Two days ago, my friend and I did coolant flash of his Jetta 2.0. We opened the timing belt cover to check his water pump and timing belt. We did not touch the timing. After that, we attempted to change its spark plugs. Without spark wire tools, we could not take the wires out of the engine. We did pull the wires with some force. After putting everything back on, we noticed the engine shakes as the car accelerating. Later the CEL is on. I believe the misfire was caused by attempting to change its spark plugs, but the wires look fine. So what went wrong? What should be fixed or checked? Thanks

Did you gap the spark plugs? Did you buy the correct OEM spark plugs ?
Did you torque them on correctly per your VW manual? Swap the wires from 2 and 3 to 1 and 4 and see if the error codes follow the wires; then you'll know it's the wires.
