a lot of heat at WOT and improper heat range = premature detonation = misfire. Its a well known fact that turbos and platinum plugs don't mix. oem plugs are far superior than most others but there are a number of plugs you can get.

or every 3, they are cheap.
and its worth it.
my WOT poping was the gapping being off after 12k or so, you can and should re-gap them.

I swapped to some NGK's that were non-platinum...they are copper I believe...whatever they are they are supposedly made specially for turbo (1.8T I assume) cars. I thought I remember when I had this problem someone mentioning to me something about the heat range of the plugs where copper has a better heat range than platinum. After the switch I haven't had a misfire since.
My misfires went on for months. I tried brand new platinum bosch 4+ plugs, new ICM, new coilpacks, new MAF (I was getting CELs/lean codes at times), seafoam in my fuel, new fuel filter, and new coil boots. They all seemed like they were band-aids. Some solutions lasted only a few days and some lasted 2 or 3 weeks. Give the copper NGK's a shot before anything else considering they are much cheaper than the other options except maybe coilboots.
