Default Mixing fuel grades

If I add equal amounts of 89 Octane and 93 Octane fuel into my tank, will I have equivilantly added the minimum 91 Octane fuel required for the B5 to run correctly? Most stations around here don't sell 91, and for some reason the price of 93 is staying far above where it should be from the 87/89 octances, so this is why I'm curious if mixing will allow me to at least cut the surcharge in half.

Default Actually, can even do a mix of 2gal 87 and 4gal 93 to get a 91 mix

And with the prices I'm paying, right now it is actually even cheaper for me to do this than the originally contemplated 89/93 mix.

Just hope the octanes will mix fast enough just filling the tank (obviously, 93 is going in first and will be at the bottom).

Octane Blending Excel worksheet

No, ECU won't allow it. Stock in North America can run on 87, regardless of placard.Chip w/89's fine
