To me, the cap is what makes these unique from the other BBS wheels with similar spoke patterns which all have exposed bolts (RS-GT, RG-R, RE, RXII, RX)... I wouldn't tell someone to not do it, it's your ride, make it your own... but those other wheels have clean centres... the RC sans centre cap has a bunch of stamped info in there that isn't meant to be shown.. so it apears to me, like something is missing (the centrecap).

The nice thing, it will cost you all of about $20 to do the mod, so if you don't like it, no biggie. Alternatively, that BBS RC centre (the very centre of the piece where BBS is printed, which is also a cap that fits into the knurled part)) can be swapped for 2 or 3 diff designs. There is "BBS" in white as your 1st photo shows, BBS in Black and also a Carbon Fibre centre.. I think the BBS is Gold or White. Bunch of options to look at. I think the centres are available from Tire Rack. My GLI came with VW centres... but I have the white BBS ones like your 1st photo.
