Moan/Groan problem on '01 (long)

I took my car in to the dealer yesterday for the moan/groan problem and an engine check light problem. Dealer found both problems immediately, but had to order both parts from Germany. It seems like there is no stock in the U.S. for what the service managaer calls the turbo air recirculator valve. Is this the diverter valve people on the forum have referred to? The other problem was a bad coil pack on the third cylinder. This problem occurred the day I first brought the car home. That part is also on a national back order. Anybody else have this problem.
Still I was very pleased with the service at AB in San Jose. They gave me a loaner car even though it was only for a day and they found both problems promptly. My service writer,BTW, was George Demar. The only complaint with them is that they are so busy. It takes about a month to get an appointment.

I also took my car in yesterday for the moan(present since day 1). The mechanic had some trouble locating the noise but did hear it when I took him for a ride. He is looking into the causes now with AoA and going to get back to me. That's a bit discouraging that the valves are not in stock or in the country.
Please post as you progress and if you find out the part number(s) for the valve I would be interested in knowing. Good Luck<p>'01 1.8T QMSPXB + ESP

Both problems were present from day 1. It took three weeks to get an appointment for them to look at it seriously (they did some quick scans with the VAG tool when I first brought the car in). I'll look up the part number they ordered when I get home. I told the service writer the symptoms and they found the problem right away. I was told about four weeks to get the parts.

They talked to AoA and confirmed that it needs a bypass valve and told me exactly what they told you "there are none in the country." They didn't give a time frame on parts so I guess four weeks is where it stands.
They told me that the computers came back clean when they checked, presumably using the VAG for diagnostics and fault codes. I'll keep you posted as I find things out.....<p>'01 1.8T QMSPXB + ESP
