Default Moonroof issue - if i lock the car w/ the moonroof open

I have noticed recently that if i lock my car with either the moonroof completely open or partially open and then return to my car 20 or so minutes later, I discover something odd. The car is still locked but the lights are all flasking (as though the hazard button has been engaged). If i unlock the car, the lights stop.

This is very strange to me. Its possible that this has always been the case and not a new development. I do not really lock my car with the moonroof open.

Any ideas? Experiences?

To those of you with a 98.5 a4, does this happen to you if you lock the car with the moonroof open??

Just push the secret button on the way out every time you leave a window open.

If i leave the window open, wait 30 seconds for the LED stops flashing quickly, and then wave my hand in the car a lot the alarm sounds.

Default as he said, the alarm already went off, you just didnt hear it. theres a button by your drivers seat

on the lower part of the b pillar, if you press it, it will disable the motion alarms for that timje that you lock it. you have to press it everytimke you want to disable it though.

strong winds or bugs, etc can set of your motion alarm when windows or moonroof is left open

Default As I understand it, it is more a pressure sensitive system - not motion

So when your window is open and the alarm is active, the wind could trip it.

Default not very long, id say less than 2 minutes... but its not for you to hear, its to distract the theif

from stealing it, or to draw attention to your car so people will be around, so he would be scared off

If the alarm goes off in the woods with no one around, does anyone hear it?
