Default E-Mail from Pete Priebe, and my response to him

I've never done business with Autobahn International (and never will). Nonetheless, I received the following e-mail from Pete Priebe last night, apparently in response to my earlier A4 forum posting in which I referred to one of his employees as an idiot.

<i>"Without the proper account number how would you suggest we give credit to an American Express account? Idiot?????????????"</i>

I sent him the following reply via e-mail:

<i>"Mr. Priebe,

Why don't you go to the A4 and A6 forums at AudiWorld.com and tell your side
of what happened?

Regarding my use of the word 'idiot', I stand behind it with regard to
whoever composed the posting by 'Jetta1'. His posting makes it very clear
that he hasn't a clue.

Right now, to the readers at AudiWorld your company is a joke. Only you can
decide if it's worth your time and effort to try to improve your company's
image. Personally, I don't care one way or another. Good luck."</i>

So far, it's clear that he has chosen to not rise to the occasion. Instead, as his e-mails to Rich W confirm, he just continues to make a fool of himself.

Default The truth comes out, finally....

About a year or more ago I had a friend go through the same kind of thing. Pete was swearing unbelievable obscenities at him for something that was Autobahn's fault in the first place.
I can understand a late shipment or a mix up. **** happens. Every vendor has problems and late shipments. IF they are smart, they do their best to work things out.
What I can't forgive is the foul-mouthed, insane attitude Pete had when he should have been apologizing and trying to make things work out...he had to cop an attitude.
I thought he was a jerk and no one else seemed to have this situation until I read this.
I guess the guy's true colors are finally apparent to everyone on this site...

Default Charging before shipment...

You do know that by charging you 5 months before shipment they violated a law, correct? They are required by law to inform you of delays of 30 days or more, and cannot charge you until shipment in that case.

The various delivery companies are horrible in my area, so I always call for tracking numbers on the day I'm told the item will ship. This forces the company to acknowledge any delays as well. It can be a PITA, but IM is always worth it.
