Default first fwd are 60-40% and quattros are 58-42% for the 1.8T.....

10 feet of 10ga cable has to weigh a minimum of 10 lbs. your set up will not meet track standards for relocated battery. someone did the math on this and came up with 75 pounds of extra weight. my car weights around 3200 lbs. so you're asking me to add 2% to get a 1% better front/rear weight distribution. putting a bag of sand in the trunk will do this at no cost. also battery on the left causes a right to left imbalance. mounting it on the right has problems with the gas tank. i don't know what a PDI is.

Shouldn't the battery be mounted in a box? Isn't that a bit dangerous?

Battery is of a sealed design, so not nearly as much chance of explosion/leakage.

Sealed? most are sealed. Also looks pretty vulnerable to a left rear impact to me.

Default Should still be put into a sealed box.

The reason for this is because the box must be sealed from the driver. Also to keep any objects in the trunk from making contact between the 2 battery posts.

Why do you think there are a ton of different "sealed" battery relocation kits on the market?

Default Mine is @ 53/47 but I moved a lot took off battery/weight of oil + added abbout 100lbs to rear

Car handles better as a result. Weight not that much of a consideration as it is only 3000lbs wet.
