Default MP3 car player in A4?

Has anyone attemped to install/build an MP3 car system in their A4? I'd like to proceed with this after I purchase an A4, but there's a few things on my mind:

Ideally I'd need a deck that has AUX/line-in RCA jacks on the back. In this case, should I avoid the BOSE system altogether?

Share your thoughts.

Default If you're going to make...

If you're going to make changes to the stereo system don't bother getting BOSE. From my experience BOSE components are proprietary equipment which makes it difficult to add aftermarket stuff. Like changing the head unit, or using aftermarket equipment with the BOSE amp. You can check out the newsgroup rec.audio.car for info on playing MP3s in vehicles. I believe there is something called "Empeg" which can allow you to do this. I don't know too much about it myself. If it were me I would use a very small computer (Sony Vaio) and link it up to an indash monitor(Kenwood?). Integrate a small touch mouse pad somewhere near the center armrest and viola! You could cut out some of the glove compartment to place the computer in.
