Default MP3 in your A4... it is already equipped for it....(much more)

Discovery made by my former boss when I worked for the Navy (he still works there so we should all feel pity) anyway do the following.... burn a cd or find a cd that has only MP3 files on it and stick it in your changer.. This actually works it plays the mp3 files just as if they are regular redbook cd audio! I couldn't believe this either until I tried it but it works perfectly in my 99.5 1.8TQMS with the Concert Sound System. Let me know of any other success/failure with this but I had no problems. Incidentally this kicks more *** than I can think of.

enjoy.

p.s. Sorry to all you guys who went out and spent money on a rio or other mp3 player for your car...

Default Pardon my skepticism, but.....

I find this highly improbable.

I can't believe that whatever head unit audi
happens to use comes with the necessary
decoding algorithms, whether in hardware or
software, and that audi hasn't advertised it
in the least.

Although this would be a great thing were it to
be true, I doubt it.

Can anyone verify this?

Default Are you sure the burning software didn't convert them to redbook audio? I know that some will.

Default mp3

You must convert the mp3 file to a wav file and then burn it onto the cd. I think MP3.com will have a faq on buring mp3 onto cd's.

Really? Lemme go check.

Come to think of it, imagine going through the songs on the CD.... or does the song name pop up on the climate control panel?
:-)
