I was driving my car yesterday, my car was bogging down at around 4 thousand rpm in second gear.... then about a couple of hours later my check engine light was flashing!, I pulled over and shut my car off and plugged in my VAG tool, under fault codes under engine it displayed,,

i cleared the codes like a moron thinking that they will come back but it cleared them and i drove my car just this mouring and it i felt it misfire a little bit, but im gonna drive it and see if it does it again and not clear the codes, on top of that when i got in my car my airbag light was on and now my drivers side side airbag has too much "resistance", what is going on with my car? thanks.

of the error codes. Not sure what the sites are. I've been trying to find some explanations of error codes myself, I'll let you know if I come across any good sites =)

I had the same problem on my 2000 A4 1.8t. It just so happened that it was due for 30k maint so I had the dealer fix it. The plugs were pretty thrashed so that was probably part of it. They said that there was debris in the cylinder hole. They cleaned and that fixed the problem
My misfire would occur at any RPM if I went beyond about 60% throttle.. Anytime I went WOT the car would misfire and throw the check engine light code. Cleared the codes and they kept coming back.
Good luck,
-Brent

It's actually called a resistor, I think, but it's on top of your airbox, 5 wires in on one side, 4 wires out on the other. replace that, and your misfire will be gone.
the airbag fault, just clear it, it's common on the 1.8t's, and don't slam your seats down...
