My 2003 A4 threw a rod yesterday-total engine destruction

Whine, complain, etc. Car has always been dealer serviced (great dealer!). Use synthetic oil. Was not over-revving. Just let go on me. Still under warranty - was flat-bedded to dealer. They will put a new engine in. Gave me a 2006 Passat as a loaner until it is done. So really, not complaining but looking for opinions. It's a lease car - does Audi have any kind of thing where when an event like this occurs they will let me terminate lease and get a new one with a new lease? Sort of a good customer (I've owned five Audis), "gee we're sorry", kind of deal? Once a car leaves me stranded I generally am done with it. Only had one other car do this to me (Ferrari) - it was gone from my life within two weeks. My problem is, even with a new engine, I will have trouble ever trusting the car again - and I take a LOT of long trips. Any thoughts or should I just "man up Nancy boy!"?

Yeah - I probably will - I think it's the post-partum depression I am going through. Loved driving the car and now am without it for a week - two weeks? Someone call the Waaaaambulance for me.

related to workmanship. Nothing serious, just some leaking fluids or something like that. If you have the patience to itemize a list over the next month, they should be able to address any niggling issues. Beyond that, I would expect the car should remain pretty reliable for the rest of the lease.
If you don't have the tolerance for that...Audi may help you get into another lease, but it'll cost you. They won't do it as an apologetic statement.

and is allowed to do the swap without interruption.. and their parts dept has everything in stock or ordered everything needed... all will be fine... we do lots of them here.. 3 in the last week. Its pretty common to replace the 1.8T for sludge, not for a thrown rod.

but if you have had a ferrari, and have blown it up, you obvioulsy ahve some money, cut your losses and buy a new car.
