I got a remote from an Avant, and an "actuator" from a VW fuel filler door (real cheap), and my tech is installing them so that when I hit the trunk release button on the Avant remote, my trunk will pop open.
So far, looks like an easy install; tech just mounted the actuator next to the internal side of the trunk latch, and fooled my A4 into thinking it was an Avant. Then it will send an electrical signal to the actuator when I hit my remote trunk release and the car will pop the latch on the trunk.
I am getting so carried away with gadgets on my car........

Very nice.
I have had troubles with my latch not actuating the first time I push in on the trunk button. Having a remote controlled latch would be a great benefit to me. Do you think it is possible to get a tech article written up on this? Any suggestions on the sticky button?

As for your problem....I would just WD40 the latch from the outside and inside. That should take care of it.

for the lever in the salon to open the trunk, and could not understand why a car of this class does not have a simple thing like that, lol...
