my AEB 1.8T is eating coolant at an alarming rate.. any ideas?

Default So put it on a diet



Start by opening the hood and removing the belly pan.

Any leaks? Anything coming out the tail pipe? It just doesn't evaporate, so it's going somewhere.

I don't think it's a leak.. and no smoke from the tail pipe

It's going somewhere then. It can't just evaporate from the system.

I'm well aware of that... would a slow leak into the engine show any smoke?

I think you'd notice any amount of coolant leakage as water doesn't combust very well.

very true.. I'll really crawl around in the engine bay and seek out possible leaks

How fast is an "alarming rate"? How much are you replacing how often?

You will smell the coolant before you see smoke, burning AF smells sweet
