My allocation arrived -- Dealer just ordered my S4!

I am thinking about the S4 early next year. But plucking down 40 big ones for a car that I haven't test driven is bothering me. Has anyone else felt this way? What if the car is not what you expected? Is anyone getting the chance to "test drive" one of these bad boys first or are the dealers just taking orders?

I can understand your hesitation but keep in mind that you're just putting down a refundable deposit to ensure that one is held for you. If you've driven an A4, imagine that with a little more kick. <grin>

I've got a 96 A4 and I love it so I'd be happy with a new one. I've driven a 2.8 sport quattro and want it for the quattro driven acceleration. I've driven an M3 and want the handling. I want the sheer HP of a GS400. I love the powerful turbo boost of a 236hp Volvo C70. If you add all of this up, you've got an S4, so I'm ordering one. I don't think I can be at all disappointed. I've been almost in agony waiting for a faster A4 (but in all truth, my A4 could have only 140HP and I would still love it; that's why I know that a newer improved S4 with improvements in every area I can think of (well, except back seat room) would be worth every penny. Hell, my S4 is only gonna be a couple thousand more than a new 328 with only 193HP.
