Those RX-7 rotary engines self-destruct though.
Gotta be replaced every 100k or so.
A note: I'm doing a project on the history of Audi for a class and was reading some of the history of audi on the www.audi.com website. I didnt know it, but Audi experimented with rotary engines in the 60's or 70's.
The way I see it, the Germans experimented with the rotary engine and decided it wouldn't work well for normal use, so they stopped. But the crazy Japanese just keep trying. :-)

. . . as long as you don't mind swapping the engine out ~50K miles!
Trust me . . . I had one . . . every one I knew that had one had engine troubles leading to engine replacement around 50K miles.
