Default Think that piece is called the "olive" - I cracked a bunch...

I'd have to trim the line before the olive then pry it off. Every time it would deform so I'd have to whack it back to round w/ a hammer. Try the electrical tape idea, otherwise I'm sure a NAPA would have one or somethin.

Yea I was using a screwdriver too... just be careful not to split it, they're fragile

just get a 1/8 FNPT to 5/32 or 1/16 hose barb adapter and run the vac hose all the way to the gauge

No, but I must have a ton of them in my garage since I never use the nylon kits.

Default Most of the time you can just fit 5/32" rubber vac line over the fitting ends on the gauge

without using any adapters.

Default They do, they are called threads.

I have pushed 24psi(k03), 23psi (T28) and 21psi(K04) all on the same hose/fitting/wire tie setup without any issues. I have seen my friend push 35psi with it the same way on his drag 10 second civic.

Default well I don't care what you and your civic buddy are doing.....

I don't get the warm fuzzy feeling...and I like the warm fuzzy feeling

I didn't say it didn't work, I just said I like having the hose barb geometry.
