My cousin's car was parked on the street and upon returning to his car to find that someone hit his car. The car that hit him was parked in front of him and was still parked against the front bumper of my cousin's car. The damage to the car was very minor and barely noticeable, but he's considering getting it repaired. A police report was filed without the other owner's presence. My question is since insurance information wasn't exchanged how would my cousin go about filing a claim against the other owner's car. I assuming that he should just call up his own insurance company and his insurance company will take care of everything.
