1. you are wrong. The motors are for autoleveling, not aiming.
you still have to aim them to get the base line. This is not hard.
2. The piece you cut off, you can't even see when the lights are installed.
3. City lights are just for looks, but they look cool, and very Euro.
4. The 2 piece e-codes are much more expensive.

2-piece is what I was looking at, cause you don't have to cut.
I don't want to have to cut up my fender, so I was looking at the 2-pc. Is there anything bad about these 2-pc's that I should know about?
Also, If you don't repair where you cut in Chicago, that area will rust like no other, thats the last thing I want.

It's wrong, you can't. Besides, I didn't get it new, no choice..
Plus, I don't care. It's a car. If I wanted a sports car, I'd have one. Yes, it would be a 5 or 6 speed manual.

What, the euro lights? They are great. Avoid higher wattage bulbs,
you'll burn up your headlight switch unless you run a couple of relays to take the load off of the switch.

what "stats" are you looking for? These aren't baseball players, they are headlights
if you consider applying touch up paint repairing, well then fine you have to "repair" the paint. The area you cut is not visible with the lights installed. How many sets have you installed? How many sets have I installed? there you go. Just because you are afraid to trim a bit of metal off your car doesn't mean its difficult.
as far as aiming them, all B5s A4s sold in the US had manualy aimed headlights. So you are comparing e-codes to the aiming mehtods on totally different cars? Good arguement. As far B5 Audi A4 headlights go, e-codes are no more difficult to aim than any US spec lights. So you are wrong.
As for stats, I can't give you any there, and don't even really know what you are asking for. But I can tell you that my car came with 2 piece headlights, and I replaced them with e-codes because i wasn't happy with the light output of my stock lights, and I prefered the look of the 1 piece e-codes. I never said that looks wasn't a part of it, because e-codes look damn good! but saying its purely cosmetic is ridiculous.
you have made yourself look like an idiot in this entire thread, and i realize that you are trying to justify your $50 purchase of clear corners (which are purely cosmetic by the way), but I would rather put my money towards something that actually imporves the performance of my car. to each his own I guess.

don't know what I am looking for.. maybe DISTANCE in yards??
how hard is it to test a light system, in terms of distance it projects? I wanna know how much farther the light is going to travel. Most people want to know the stats of an upgrade. Is this too hard for guys here to test or something, i don't get what the dilemma is, you measure projection distance, ever take physics?

The target audience for this car is not inclined to row their own...
You can get the Allroad with a 6 speed, and the A6 2.7t sedan with the 6 speed.. You can undoubtedly get the A6 Avant in Germany with the 6 speed.. In the US, not that many people want manual transmissions in 'luxury' cars.
