I have had this problem before - In April 2006, an Audi shop installed a new sending unit (part # 8D0-919-673-B) and washer (part # 1J0-919-133). I still have the invoice. And now, less than 2 years later, it's happening again. Do you think there's a simple contamination problem that can be corrected with some type of cleaning?

It's supposedly clears the sulphides that bad gas deposits. Do you use the same brand continually?

I have not used any fuel cleaners on a consistent basis.

Nope, just buy the sending unit and replace it yourself this time.

Default I always use Octane 87 but I don't always buy it from

the same gas station.

Ok. 89 is a much better choice for either engine. Most cost/effective.
