My hood has a small dent in the front right above the grille from hitting a deer.

Now I can't move the safty release far enough to get the hood open. Any ideas?

take the bumper off maybe?
It may give you more roome to work with. Theres only 2 hex screws that hold the bumper on(plus the splash gard screws)
as far as the hood goes cheap you can get it almost perfect for $60 from a good paintless dent removal guy. but it looks like the whole front end could use a respray.
