Default My odometer reads: Service INSP...WTF is INSP?

I just noticed that the bottom part of my odometer reads Service INSP. It keeps blinking for about a minute after i start the car. I took it in for service at 30,000 and im only at 33,000 now. Can anyone help me or advise me?

Default It's like an "idiot light" - the ecu has a milage counter, which counts down. When it hits the mark,

it pops up the indicator on the display.
Ignore it until you can either get someone with vag-com to reset it or your dealer schedule.

Default I think this applies to the 1.8 too?

This is for my 2.8 (should be the same):

During road test: :

- Check kickdown, braking, steering, heating, ventilation, Air Conditioning, power accessories, and electrical systems.

After road test:

- Engine idle speed: check.

- Engine: check for leaks.

- Automatic Transmission: check ATF 1) .

- Power steering: check fluid level.

- Exhaust system: check for damage or leaks.

- On Board Diagnostic system: check Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Memory with Scan Tool (ST) VAG 1551 and erase If necessary.
1) Severe conditions, such as extremely high temperatures, continuous mountain driving, trailer-towing, predominantly stop-and-go traffic conditions, it is necessary to change the ATF every 48,000 km (30,000 miles).

48,000 km (30,000 miles) and 96,000 km (60,000 miles)

- Engine: change oil and replace oil filter.

- Service Reminder Indicator: reset.

- Battery: check electrolyte level, add if necessary.

- Air Cleaner: Replace Air Cleaner Element.

- Cooling system: check coolant level and add if necessary.

- Dust and pollen filter: replace.

- Spark plugs: replace.

- Automatic shiftlock: check operation including Park/Neutral Position Switch.

- Manual transmission: check for leaks.

- AutomaticTransmission final drive: check level, add if necessary.

- Plenum water drain valve: check, clean cowl if necessary.

- Tires and spare: check condition and pressure.

- Brake system, check for damage and leaks: check brake pad thickness; check brake fluid level.

- Brake fluid: replace every two years regardless of mileage.

- Front axle: check dust seals on ball joints and tie rod ends, check tie rods.

- Sunroof: clean and lubricate guide rails.

- On Board Diagnostic system: check Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Memory with Scan Tool (ST) VAG 1551 and erase if necessary.
