Here's how it works:
Fix some thick fishing line to the garage ceiling.
Fix the other end to the top of the garage door.
Hang a tennis ball by means of an eyescrew on the line.
When the door is closed, the ball will raise up out of the way.
When the door is open, the ball is hung low... Drive up until the ball just touches your windshield.
Works great!
You only need to adjust where the line attaches to the ceiling. It's pretty easy.
