my stg2 awe clutch lwfw didn't have any chatter to it at first,
but now after almost 320 miles, when I started it, detected a *bit* of a rattle, and if i barely rev it (1000-1100 rpm) i can hear it. is this normal with it? i've read from people that say yes, and some never had it. i did not have it, but now I do. is it dependent on install? tia.

Mine does...
The amount of 'chatter' (I'm assuming you're referring to the rattling noise in neutral as opposed to choppy clutch engagement) i get is dependant on how warm it is outside and how warm the car is...the hotter the conditions the worse the noise...I'm under the impression that's just life with a single-mass flywheel. My last clutch (older-style AWE with crappy clutchnet disk) was this way and based on what I've heard already I assume this one will be as well.
btw, I know you had yours installed about the same time as mine...how did yours break in? around 400 mi. mine tightened up a little bit...the engagement's just a little less soft than when it was first installed. I'm at 900mi and I'm still hesitant to do any really hard launches, but it seems as though it's as bedded in as it's going to get.

last day or so, the engagement has been a little easier to 'find'
but i still get my case of the 'shakes' every now and then. i've only got about 300 miles on it, with about 65 of those from the hwy, i don't do a lot of driving. I haven't done any hard launches but for the first time, i did a little bit of spirited driving and shifts today. the lwfw feels GREAT. car pulls strong without the need to downshift, i love it. feels like i have another 20-25 hp (if i actually knew how to guage hp 'feeling' lol). did you have engagement issues when it was new? like it was hard to find the right point? i would either ride the hell out of it, or not enough, and it would stutter and shake til i got going, kinda embarrassing either way

I din't have engagement issues with this one...
Once I found the engagement point (took a few abrupt launches) it was fine. No stuttering on engagement, etc, etc. keep in mind that I already had a sport clutch on my car (although it was a POS), so I was already used to haveing a smaller engagement area to deal with. It's definately a bit more difficult than engaging a stock clutch, but once you get used to it it's not hard to deal with.
