My Tip stopped working.....HELP!

thats safe mode...
could be happening for a number of reasons.
-try just disconnecting the tcu and reconnecting it
-could be the magnets in the shifter plate (bitch to replace and expensive for such a small part)
-could open up tcu and see if the chip is disconnected or loose
-could be bad communication with your valve body for the tranny
couple others, lots of reasons it could be doing this, ive had a lot of them happen to me so just try trouble shooting with a couple of those and see if it helps fix the problem

This is exactly why I won't get the tip chip
I really want better performance out of the tip, but I've heard so many problems with the chip and people going into safe mode.

I think it is the exception and not the rule. I hope I only have the one problem...
But really I'm not so sure the Tip Chip is worth it. I don't think it performs all that well. It certainly isn't night and day, its more like 11:00a.m. and 1:00p.m.

maybe im confused about his case, but that is an indication that the tranny is in "safe mode"...
does he mean completely blank? or just solid red around the PRND123 display?

mine acted just like that with a couple other little problems...
never had a problem with my tip chip but had my car act like that several times. and yes, when your tcu goes into safe mode it does act like that in that you cannot use the tiptronic shifter and it shifts rather harsh too
