Default My tribute to the 25th anniversary of Quattro...

I was driving home from work last night @ 1am and found out that my road had not been plowed yet. I wondered if I should try and plow through the snow and then I found myself plowing through 12-15" of snow. My quattro powered through the snow for a mile before getting stuck at the bottom of my driveway (pic). We have had a horrible winter in MA and I have driven home in the snow at least 15 times this year and the Audi has amazed me every time. Even when I got stuck I was amazed that I had made it that far!

Default Now let me give you the other side of that tale without snow tires...

Got stuck in the middle of route 18 near the NJ turnpike by Rutgers back in January. I foolishly listend to my sister at the time who suggested that I should drive in front of the snow plows and cut through a foot of snow. Now, where I live the most snow we see is 1" (we actually got 4" earlier which closed the city for 2 days). The previous owner of my a4 lived in California, so he put on Pirelli P6000s and I saw no reason to change that. I managed to get halfway across the plows when the right front end of my car gets lodged somehow in the snow. I come to a stop in the middle of the highway and can't get out. We cleared out as much snow as we could from all four of the tires, but they couldn't grip enough to pull the car off the snow it was sitting on. Luckily someone in an F-350 took pity on us and helped pull me out. I'm planning to buy new tires next winter...

Default nice. Generally speaking, as long as you keep your momentum up, you can go ANYWHERE...

it's when you stop that you usually get stuck, if the snow is really deep (ive goen through 2 feet of powder with no problems) or particularily heavy.
