Here's a question. How do you guys hold the red wire in fuse #27? I just kinda pull the rubber sleeve away from the tip (jeez, this sure sounds bad), and stick it in. I am worried it might just come loose in the future. Any thoughts? Oh yeah, I can't get the double sided tape on the connector to stick on the inside. Now, all the wires are dangling in there with the connector . Wish I took a picture of the fuse box area. Almost too afraid again to remove the fuse cover. Makes very loud snapping sound when it comes off. Maybe I am doing it wrong. Anyway...
Much thanks to Steve66. I was going to put it somewhere in the cluster. I did not attempt to try to squeeze the line through the way Steve did. I route it inside the steering column, instead. As a result, more line can be seen, but I'll live with it. Was almost too afraid to remove the cover on top of the steering. Thought I broke it when it finally came off. Made a loud sound.

The main unit is partially hidden like Steve66's. I am worried though the suction cup might wear off after a while, and the whole detector might fall off. Maybe I'll mount it to the visor and see how it looks.

I have had no problems with my V1 positive wire falling out of the fuse slot. I had it in my last A4 for 1.5 years, and in my new one half a year, and it hasn't come out yet.

I have done 2 Radar hardwires in the following way and have had no problems plus it makes for a cleaner installation.
If you take of the lower panel by the knee's of the driver you will see a set of relays on the left hand side. These are for things like wiper's, turn signals, etc. Find the one with the yellow decal on the front. Remove the nut from the bottom of this relay. Put a crimp on ring connector on the Hot lead of your detector. slip it onto the stud and spin the nut back on.
Use whatever ground you want and you are good to go.
If you have any other questions I can find the FAQ I used for this.

It's not going anywhere and the glue can easily be removed if necessary (hot-melt glue is great stuff...easy to use, easy to remove, lots of uses). The fuse box cover does fit in there pretty tight and will make a popping sound when you remove it -- just pry up one corner and it'll come off. Also, I've had the suction cup mount in place for about 4 months now and it has never come off. You install looks good!

Popping the fuse box and cover above steering was enough for me. Both made loud popping sound. I manage to route the phone line through the small gap w/o removing the knee bolster, and I think I'll keep the wire in fuse #27 for now. Hopefully, it'll stay in there, like it did for some people.
