Default Actually, the amplifier is more like $280 new from the stealership.

I'd make for DAMN sure that the amplifier is in fact the problem before just buying a new one. If you're just getting occasional misfires, under hard acceleration for instance, I would venture you need to check sparkplugs, then coilpacks. However, if your car is shaking horribly and it's running on 3 cylinders--the amplifier is your problem. Good luck

Default my dealer wanted $350, buddy of mine works there...

bought it for me and it still cost 198 after tax. and for some reason usually it's #2 that fails to get spark when these things go bad.

Default $350 for just the part?!?

If so, they're bending you (someone) over. If that's the TOTAL price for the part + the 5 minutes that it takes to install it....then that's right. That's exactly what I paid when I was put at the mercy of the stealership....$280 for the part and 1/2 labor to install it and 1/2 hr to clear codes. I wish they charged labor by the minute, cuz they didn't use 55 of the minutes that they charged me for :-)
