From a standstill in 1st gear @ low revs, I get a nasty 'thumping' through the chassis until the revs are up. If I upshift early, it still does it. If I get the revs up quick & shift above 4k or so, it doesn't feel as bad - almost like it's not there. Slipping the clutch masks it. No CEL & no codes.
When cold (or after letting sit for a bit) it doesn't do it - only after I've put some stop/go miles on it.
'00 1.8T w/ 110k+ & original clutch.
I figure clutch &/or flywheel. Yea or nay? Thanx in advance.

Almost like a gear skipping? Only at WOT? little bang and surge? 2-3 gear a single Hiccup? 3 2K's with same problem on line. Replaced clutch today but have to break it in a little to know for sure if it fixed it!

Sorry, I don't have any details for you, but I've heard of some slop in there creating some noises that are felt and heard through the chassis. I can't tell you specifically what you should look at though.
