Need Advice: How to finish off the touch-up lacquer after adding touch-up paint on an ebony pearl?
I've applied the touch-up paint to repair a stone chip, and it's sanded down (Meguiar's 2000 grit block) flush with the surface. Right now, the paint around the area is worn and dull. If I add the lacquer, I think the paint will start to match the surrounding paint. How do I add the lacquer so that a thin layer covers this dull area? I'm thinking I will have to plane down the surface again to make it flush again. If I use the 2000 grit block, will I get the finish I want or am I still left with the dull worn spot? I'm in unchartered waters so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
