Default Need advice on wheels..

HEy guys I have a Silver 2001.5 1.8T Quattro with the Sports Package currently with the 17.5 inch RS4 wheels, with an et-43 offset. Car is 20mm lower with the sports suspension from factory. Most of the Celebration wheels are bent so,
I am looking to buy 18" wheels probably the ASA AR2 from tirerack.18x8 with ET-35mm and suggested tire 225/40-18. Can anyone tell me what kind of clearance I have? Can I go with 18 and if so what is the widest with and offset I can get away with? I am also looking at some B7 RS4 style 18x8.5" wheels but I am not sure how much clearance I have. ANY ideas? ANY PICS from anyone who has upgraded the wheels on their 2001.5 A4 1.8TQ sports package car. THanks please post pics and ideas for wheels that would look good on a silver A4.

18x8 with 35mm + 225/40/18 is perfect

If I did it again, I wouldn't go 225/40/18. No lip protection on the rim at all.

225/40 is good for a 7.5" width, not 8. stretching the tire does bad things to handling.

Yeah but if I want to keep the radius at 12.5 and the diameter at 25 inches then tirerack recommends the 225/40-18. If I go ith any other size it will throw my speedometer off.How much lip protection do you need?

Will anything bigger than a 225 rub though? Especially since I have the 20mm lower suspension. I could run a 235/40-18 but not sure it will clear.

Not sure. I have 225/40-7.5" and can't imagine it stretched wider. It's perfect at 7.5

Rim range for 225x40x18 (most perf tires) is 7.5 to 9 ... 8 is 'spec'd as preferred

Default Personally, I wouldn't go with 18's unless you drop it some more.

I'm running 235/40-18's with my 18x8; 35-offset Fliks. Pic in my poster, although not sport anymore.
