I have a bone stock 2001 A4 1.8T tipper, and was looking to my first upgrade, and have someone local selling an ECU with APR chip, that they say is from a 2001 1.8T tiptronic. The ECU number he has is 4BO 906 018 CH. I have called two different dealerships as to wheather this will work on my car, and got different answers. One said it should, and the other said no that I need ECU 4BO 997 019 NX. Any 01 tippers out there, or anybody for that matter, have any idea.
Thanks

Even if you have an 'M' box, the 'CH' will still work in your car.
You may just need to change the softcodes on it if the donor car and yours have differences such as: quattro vs fwd, ESP vs no ESP.

M box ECU works in car that originally came with CH.
CH box ECU works in car that originally came with M.
M ECU works with CH chip in ECU.
CH ECU does NOT work properly with M chip in ECU. (car runs, just gets throttle cut whenever you try and get into boost)
That's been my experience at least.
