My check engine light came on 4 nights ago. I brought it into the shop today and my mechanic found that the cam and crank sensor connectors behind the firewall has been swap. Now no one has touched my engine since March 03 which is when my mechanic did my 2nd timing belt change. The thing I want to know is if it is possible for the connectors to have been swapped during March and not throw a code until now Aug. 03, which is 5 months ago. This is very strange because he told me that the check engine light would come on right when the connectors are swapped. It shouldn't have elapsed 5 months before any codes are thrown. Could someone have been tempering with my car outside my house? Thanks in advance.
