Default Quattro's not the problem.....

It will take the AWD digit. What it won't take is the Auto Trans Digit.

I'm going to give it another shot tomorrow with the newer codes Yippers had.

Default Re: hey...

I found the login code searching through every pos I could find about recoding ECUs.

I found one that said use euther 01283 or 11463 depending on year.

The ECU in my car now is a Q, and the ECU I want to put in is a P.

Default No luck so far.....

According to Uwe@Ross-Tech.com on the vag-com forum:

Some of the DBW cars (2000 and newer)cannot be changed from Auto to Manual via coding; they use different fimrware ("chip") depending whether they are Auto or Manual, and a different suffix code on the ECU (like your Q vs. P).

Not the words of encouragement I was looking for, but that does seem to be the case.

I guess I'll be putting this ECU w/ chip up for sale and trying to find another one.

Thanks for everyones help.

Default FS: 2000 ->Manual only<- ECU w/ GIAC chip

I'm sure all of the info is in the previous posts, but:

ECU: 4B0 906 018P
2000 A4 1.8TQM
Current Soft Code: 07201
w/ Giac 91 octane program chip (018P08 V08).

I have:
ECU w/ Giac Chip
Original box from AWE
Original purchase confirmation slip

e-mail me if interested.
Anyone?

Am I allowed to post this here?

I tried the same thing before with a 2000 tip and it never recoded either.
