Default Need Help !!! Engine problem 1.8T

I recently changed the MAF sensor after having the engine sputtering, then the car was running fine for about 2 weeks. Suddenly, a new symtom came up : at idle sputtering, shaking a lot and when driving as well. I did try to unplug the MAF, still have the same problem, also changed new spark plugs BURU Ultra-X part# UXF56, still have the same problem eventhough the turbo still spooling but weak. I know that the VAG-COM will find the soultion for me, but I can't get access to it. Any help will be appreciated.

Default My friend's A4 is doing the same thing...

It is practically undrivable .. (Only can be driven at about 5mph) because the car shakes and stutters. Don't know what the problem could be .. He has a GIAC chip and Miltek exhaust and that's it.

His father is a mechanic and has no clue (although an American car mechanic) .. Can't bring it to the dealer because of the chip, so who knows. Seems like it could be quite a few different things. He has half 94 octane and half 100 octane, both of which I have in my car from the same place, around the same time, so gas might be able to be ruled out. Beyond that I have no idea ... I'm gonna track this thread to see what comes up.

Default Had same problem but fixed

I had the same problem couple weeks ago. I found out that the Mass Air Flow sensor was bad. I paid about $300 for the part but at http://www.vwparts.com/ is cheaper. Anyway, I am still able to drive at normal speed but it would take longer to get up there. It feels like I am driving without the turbo.

sounds like a spark problem; don't forget the possibility of arcing wires.

Default could be a bunch of things

If it gets running take it to the dealer, I have always gotten them to VAG my car for free.
