Default Need help finding bad relay or fuse. (updated V1.2)

well . . . Actually Thomas took the codes with him to check out tomorrow at work.

anyway, I went to the zone and pulled the numbers because I wanted them (bad)

So here it is.

Alot of these were [SHORT TO GROUND] codes, so Thomas said it was probably a Relay or fuse.

The symptoms are I went to Cali, when I flew back the car was broke =)

To the codes

P0445
P0037
P0418
P0412
P1289
P1473
P0136
P0031
P0102
P0135

now in order if that helps

P0031 - HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low
P0037 - HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low
P0102 - Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ Low Input
P0135 - O2 Sensor Heater Circ.,Bank1-Sensor1 Malfunction
P0136 - O2 Sensor Circ.,Bank1-Sensor2 Malfunction
P0412 - Sec.Air Inj.Sys.Switching Valve A Circ Malfunction
P0418 - Sec. Air Inj. Sys. Relay (A) Contr. Circ Malfunction
P0445 - Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit Shorted
P1289 - Linear 02 Sensor / Compens. Resistor Short to B+
P1473 - EVAP Emission Contr.LDP Circ Open Circ.

Help me guys

Default My diagnosis....Ben I expect more searching from you!

P0445 - Evap code. Check the gas cap.
P1473 - "see above"

P0135 - O2 not heating up
P0136 - O2 bank 1
P0037 - I think is an O2 (rear).

P0418 - I think is part of Secondary Air Pump
P0412 - "see above"
P1289 - could be the N75 or even a torn vac line

P0031 - no freaking clue

P0102 - MAF

Think of this forum as a buffet. You won't get fed if you don't go get it yourself!

Default hey..I gave you plenty of info though :) I still have no idea what that one code is.

Maybe if you get it vagged you'll have the actual code instead of the generic one.

Default I did get it VAGd but . . . Thomas has the print out and is looking into it.

Basically all of these codes said "short to ground"

which led him to believe it was a relay.

but he needed to look it up at work (VAG mecahnic here in knoxville)

anyway, Im driving to Alabama tomorrow and would love to see if I can get my car running before then.

so I pulled the generic codes.

Sorry if thats not good enouch =( just thought I would give it a shot.

Default Fair enough.

I am going to go down stairs and star pulling fuses and then drop the knee bolster to see if a relay might have fallen out or something rediculous like that (it would be my luck that it would be something that stupid)

Default Just do it in some sort of order. We don't want to see any posts saying..

I pulled a relay and my car won't start

Default Good Call . . . so . . . when I was trying to patch up my Stealth Phone Charger Install

I kept blowing Cig Lighter Fuses (slot33, 15A) and replacing them trying to figure out what the heck was causing it. (adjust something, toss in a new fuse)

Anyway, in the mix I pulled the slot 34 (engine mannagement) fuse, (15A) noticed it was blown and assumed I just pulled it out of the Cig Lighter slot.

fast foreward to tonight

Read down the Fuse List just now and checked anything that had the word 'engine' in its description, and sure enough, the 34 slot was empty.

Im back up to decent boost (9psi peak) but not where I should be (20-21 psi)

i wish I could have felt the difference between 3psi and 21 psi.

Still things to look into, but at least I will be able to pass on the way down to Alabama
