Need help getting to clutch pedal(more)

Part #7 in the diagram fell on to the floor mat last week while driving, so no more clutch pedal which makes driving a little tough. I need to get the pin back in to place and pull part #9 back to the clutch pedal. How do I remove either the carpeting or the lower dash to get to all this stuff? Should I take it in or can I do the job myself with my limited mechanical prowess and few tools? Even if I should have it done professionally I'd like to get in there to at least take a look at it. Thanks!

Mine used to creak badly, especially in hot weather
I put some moly lube on the clutch pedal hinge a few months ago. The creaking has almost disappeared. So I don't buy it that it's ALWAYS a bad master cylinder.

does that thing also work in conjunction with the cruise control?
the reason i ask is that i was putting on the Audi TT pedals and i had to pull out on them. I heard some "clicking" noise, and after that my cruise control hadn't worked. There is also one on the brake pedal also, or one similar. I wish i could figure it out.

here's a tech on removing the dash panel...
only 4 bolts.use a screwdriver through the master cylinder piston to pull it out until the holes match up. take the cap off the brake master cylinder if you can.

https://www.audiworld.com/tech/int10.shtml</a
