need help my 1.8T will only boost to 1psi any ideals ?

i dont have a vag, but i can put put to dealership, it seems like a boost leak but i checked it out and seemed fine

speaking of that, my friend's A4 has that problem. It only builds 5psi of boost!
I have a VAG-COM, and I have connected it a couple of times and I get a knock sensor code (not a knock detected, but something around the knock sensor, can't remember the actual code). Would this put the car into limp mode?
We spent a couple of hours yesterday diagnosing it, but never thought of the car being in limp mode. I guess we'll have to check it out again.
