Default Need Help with REAR S4 brakes...

Is anyone here running this set up?
I though the S4 rear brakes can NOT be used on the A4's.
I'm told that someone here is running that S4 rear set up(not the A8)....
If this is true....what parts do i need?
Calipers,brakets, rotors and pads???
Hand brake cables? S4 brake lines?
Let me know,
I have located a S4 in a salvage yard...Its a bring your tools and Pull your own parts...
Thanks
DG

Default I have them...

Remove the A4 caliper rotor and carrier. Replace with S4 carrier, caliper and rotor. That's it!

Default Audi Tech article on A8 front brake upgrade also discusses a rear upgrade

that uses some S4 parts. Check it out.

Default Did you have to machine the calipers?

The tech article I referenced above suggests this may be neccessary - is the a model-year specific issue, or am I missing something from tech article (maybe the A8 rear discs are larger and cause this?). Thx in advance Rob,

Default Thanks....I know about the A8...Do not want/Need the A8 rear upgrade...

It gets very expensive buying new stuff from dealer...also, Impossible to find a A8 in a salvage yard...So, S4 rear brakes, are the way to go....(if u ask me)

Default Take a look at the article. The "A8" rear uses all S4 parts except the discs

Uses S4 calipers and brackets and shows pics and an install - that's what I wanted u to look at.

Default Negative...my A4s seem to work fine.

It gets closer but not close enough to rub.
