Need to know if 1.8T USA ECU will be ok for my car
Guys, I want a spare ECu for my car so i can abuse it with APR, GIAC or whichever i end up using. There is one forsale on ebay Number "4b0 906 018 BH". Now the car is the same as mine as in 2001 1.8T FWD Automatic however, the only difference I can dissemble is that his is built for USA and Im from United Kingdom....My ECU number is "4b0 906 018 cg". How can the same car built in the same year have a different part number and do you guys think it would work in my car?

It's possible that you could recode his ECU with the softcode
that's on your ECU using a vag.com, but honestly, odds are very slim that anybody here would be able to answer that. Best bet might be to post on the vag.com forum. Uwe might have some insight into the region specific changes to cars.
