that I might need coilovers!! My 00'1.8t 2wd have 18" rims with no sports package, so visually I am the highest A4 ever made!! And after knowing some 30 A/S4 close friends, it is almost apparant that i need to lower the thing. I really love the ride now, and even accept the horrible body roll, but really cant accept the height of it no more. In short I want atleast a 3" lowering so I think only coilovers can do that, and I want it height and comfort adjustable, because I think i want to have it at the softest and lowest setting. Cornering inprovement is not that important to me, I just want a quality coilover that will ride very comfortably and stay solid and not bounce.
Please give me suggestions on H&R, B&G... etc coilovers, PRICES and EXPERIENCES, please!!!
John,
aka SUV A4=)

It is about 270-280 due to the fact that I am still working on the fuel delivery for the system. I should be at 330-350 within a couple of months once I get my manifold cast.

You really don't want to don't want to go much lower than 2" in the A4, otherwise the suspension has no room to do what's it's supposed to do. You might get away with an extra 1/4" or so but the lower you drop the car, the firmer the ride becomes.
Also, once you drop the car that much, you probably don't want the softest shock setting because you need enough dampening to compensate for the shortened suspension travel. Also, since you have 18" wheels, you want a bit more dampening than what you have now with your non-sport setup. I know because I came from non-sport and even with 17" wheels, the shocks are underdamped.
What you really want to do is try to get some rides in coilover equipped cars and do some research by searching the archives.
The least expensive coilover solution I know of is the Koni coilovers. Height adjustable and dampening adjustable. They run ~$900 from shox.com or a bit more from tirerack.com. They provide very good performance (for the street) with a decent ride. You could do a 2.25" drop and set the dampening to about 20% and maintain a decent ride, but it won't be soft and cushy like your non-sport setup but it will handle really well and look great.
Good luck!

But if you start with a non sport car you will get 3 inches at least..
Get as set of Koni's and run them full soft..
