After I discovered the the big scratch on the side of the passenger door on my A4 yesterday, I have been thinking, should I really repair it as I am probably gonna buy the new 4. If I leave it like it is it will look crap.
So I decided to go to dealership today.
They came to a desicion straight away: Get a new door. They said that the 5" scratch is too deep to repair and the car will need a new front left door.
Shall I repair it or leave it? I'm planning o buy some decent alloys and the door will cost a fair bit (not sure exactly how much) and I will have to spend more money on the car.
When I find the b****rd who dunnit I'll kill 'em

That doesn't make sense unless the metal is dented. Even then I still don't see the rational for a new door and the adjustment problems you then get. Just get it filled and repainted.

I just had a huge ugly ding fixed at a body shop. The fix looks great. My problem was 2 inch vertical crease centered in a huge dimple. They pulled it, filled it, then sanded and painted. The cost was $312.
