27K miles is actually not bad for a high perf. summer tire. If you want longer wear, you're going to have to accept poorer grip.

Another good value is the Kumho 712 = 280 or Kumho MX = 220.
Just remember, in general, the higher the performance, the lower the wear rating. That is the trade-off for stickier rubber.

are excellent in the rain .. the SP8000s aren't as good in the wet but are quite grippy (tho noisy) in teh dry. The Toyo T1-S will run circles around Nitto

The SP8000's were grippier in the dry, not quite as grippy as the E's in the wet (I think?), and the E's had better treadlife. I would have gotten 30k+ out of my 8000E's, but 8000's on a previous car would have topped out at 25K (probably a little less).
