Need opinions on Yokohama tires...

I love my AVS Sports.
Sure, there are high perf tires out there that offer slightly better grip (S-03, Pilots). But the AVS Sports do pretty alright, and they're cheap.
Edge Racing is selling 225/45R17 Yoko AVS Sports for $135 apiece. A total steal!

Don't bother with paradas...
...they are more for 'looks' (crazy tread pattern) than anything else, unless you enjoy your tires noisy and gripless.
Go with AVS Sports from yokohama, or even the AVS S1 which is stickier but has lower treadwear...

STAY AWAY FROM PARADAS!!!!!!!
They sound like mud terrains...they howl and are the worst tires ever made. I cannot believe that they are even able to sell these things legally. They are absolutely terrible. I have them and I HATE THEM. Get some Nitto 555's or some Toyo T1-s'.

I have been a loyal Yoko fan for a while, and I will agree with this statement. I have a set of A520's and they too are wicked loud...a great track tire none the less, besides that, not a good street tire. I am very surprised, the AVS sports are definately quieter so far...about 10-15K. Alot of Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712 fans for the price I think they are the leader in all around performance for the dollar. The bubblestone s-03s are supposed to be the shizzy???

I really like my AVS sports, though they do have...
that Yok sport tire 'whine' that everybody talks about. I think their performance is worth it. If you like the Dunnies' try the AVSdb, I rode in an S4 with them and they are defintly quieter.
