Default need your input : '05 subaru 2.5gt ($30k) vs. '01 A41.8tqm ($15k).....

i'm torn between buying another A4 '01 or getting a new sub'e or even a '01-'02 S4. im at 59903miles right now on my A4 and see problems knocking on my door with this car. (timingbelt, waterpump, rear wheel barring) and who knows what is next. with that said, i love the look and feel of my car other then it looks like it has a damn lift and it's a bit gutless (not chiped yet and it's a tip) oh, sorry im going married and that is the reason for the new car. maybe ill just get anther '01 A4 save some b$ucks chip the car and be happy ever after. ?????????? let me know what ya'll think. thanks

Default If you are willing to spend an extra 15 on the Subie why not put 7 or 8 in the A4 and get it

all sorted to your likes.. suspension, TB service, brakes bigger turbo ....

Default Heh...you don't want to spend $2K in maintenance on your A4...

and you've got a B5 S4 on your radar screen??

Default You could sell your current A4 as you said you have TIP...

then buy a 01 A4 1.8TQM for the same amount of money and mod it with suspension, brakes and power...it will work out a lot cheaper than a S4...

Nothing wrong with a new Subaru Legacy GT, its a really nice car which will have warrenty, but if you still love your A4 so much then why change...

Default excellent points from both RKA and Yippers, however,...

i dont mind spending the extra $'s on the A4 or even the S4 so far as it doesnt exceed the amound of a new car of what i feel is "equal quality and value" another point worth mentioning is that i am no mechanic, not at all. i dont need a super fast "race car" i want a faster than i have right now car and reliable. i love the b5 look but i'm on the fence as to what to do?

Default So have a suspenion added to give you a bit better handling, toss in a chip and a tip chip, have the

TB service done by a GOOD independent shop and save the $ you would have spent on the Subie or S4, for something more important than a car.
