Default Anything without a warranty may very well exceed the

monthly costs on a new car. With a warranty, you're just stuck with routine maintenance and not all the other surprises.

With that said, perhaps a certified B5 S4 might fit the bill...but when that warranty is gone, plan on shopping for another car. Most likely, that will be in another 2 years...which is not a lot of time imho, if you're spending $25K.

I hate to say it, but I'm leaning towards a new car, even though an S4 would be so much more fun.

Default He has a good point. Buy an Avant.

Then you can stay minivan free for a long time.

Oh and since you are getting married you cant complain that wagons dont get the ladies, because honestly you know they are hot.

Default Go with either a certified S4 or the Subaru...

Since your not a hands on person I think the certified S4 will work out unless you have a really bad dealer near you. Lightly modded with chip/piggie pipes should not cause the dealer to refuse warranty. But then again it depends on the dealer.

Audi Assured '01.5 S4 Avant for under $30k, if you can find one.
