Neo MP3 in Audi A4 update!!

The topic was hooking up a Neo MP3 or other hard drive based MP3 unit in the Audi A4.
I was told by several folks that even if someone built an adapter to give you an input into the factory head unit that it would NOT work because the head unit needs to do a handshake with the stereo, otherwise the input will not switch on.
After having a conversation with Ira at Blitzsafe I have been assured that it WILL work!
The Blitzsafe adapter does actual CD Changer emulation. It's what allows other companies changers to work with the Audi head unit. Blitzsafe makes adapters for all kinds of factory equipment to allow them to work with aftermarket equipment.
I have gone ahead and had them send me the custom cable they made for me. It will hook up onto the end of the factory cd changer cable and will give me RCA input to the Bose radio. I should have it in a week maybe two.
I will post the results of my testing when I get it. I can test it right away by hooking up a portable MD unit to it.

Hey that's great news! Thanks for all the legwork on this one. It's something I've been puzzling over for a while now. Please keep us all updated and take some pics of the adapter, etc once you get it if you can.
